Cheater cheater.. pumpkin eater!

Ok, so I didn’t do my yard work during makeup day, which was scheduled for yesterday. As soon as I was about to go out, it was raining.. again! What gives, Mother Nature? I did do a survey and I need to trim the hedge. With all the rain we’ve gotten, that thing is growing like a weed!

My husband usually mows the lawn and I’ll do the rest of the yard work. When I woke up today he tells me that the neighbor went ahead and mowed our lawn for us. So it looks like he’s off the hook for yard work this week!

What do you do on a beautiful day? Yard Work.

The weather was so awesome out today and all I wanted to do was sit outside and eat tacos somewhere. So I did that first, because.. tacos!

But then we did some flower shopping for the backyard so we could add a little color back there. And as an impulse buy, we also decided to get some fresh herbs (1 basil and 1 cilantro) and see if we could plant them and keep them alive. I tried once before, but we never got around to planting them, so that was probably the mistake.

Anyway, after getting home I finally got to work on my outside chores! I forgot to take before pictures, but here’s how it’s looking now. Nice and neat.

front yard

Guess it’s not that big of a deal when you have a front yard the size of a postage stamp! The only question now is, what the heck are these black spots on the leaves on my rosebush? Maybe a fungus? I need to investigate.

And in the meantime, I had also started on today’s task, which is laundry. Multitasking! I read somewhere that you can revive your old or scratchy bath towels by washing them, not with laundry soap and fabric softener, but by using vinegar and then running it a second time with baking soda. This is the first time I’m trying it, so will let you know how it turns out!

Also on the list for today is stripping the beds and washing all the linens. I wonder if the same trick should be used on sheets? Must investigate this too!

Week 1 of daily chores is almost in the books! Check back for my wrap up, final thoughts & confessions, and to see if I plan to keep up with this schedule or return to my normal shenanigans.
