So after drinking it for a few weeks, I noticed that my digestion improved significantly and for the first time in my life I was “going” regularly and the bloating was gone! That alone was worth its weight in gold, but I also lost more weight and kept it off because I wasn’t craving the crap anymore. Shakeology has become one meal or snack a day that is super convenient for me, especially when I’m busy.  It’s totally changed the way I think about fueling my body.

How to Make Your Shakeology

  • For all of the Shakeology recipes listed below, feel free to substitute your favorite liquid instead of what the recipes call for (i.e. water, almond milk, coconut milk, skim milk, etc.) Then simply blend 1 scoop of Shakeology with the additional ingredients for each recipe.
  • Blending with ice is optional, but recommended for all Shakeology recipes. This way it’ll be more like a delicious frosty treat. Start with 1 cup of ice and see if you like the consistency. Play around with the amount of liquid and ice until you figure out what you like.
  • You can blend in a cup of raw spinach in order to sneak in an extra serving of veggies into your diet. You won’t even taste it, I promise!  I’ve also tried kale, frozen cauliflower rice, and frozen butternut squash. Each gives it a slightly different consistency and flavor.

 

Recommendations and Tips

  • When buying your ingredients, make sure you either get frozen or fresh. Never canned. Canned fruits may be full of junk and extra sugars.
  • A lot of people don’t care for Shakeology unless it’s blended with ice, but I personally don’t mind it and more times than not, I will drink it shaken instead of blended. I just combine ½ cup water + ½ cup unsweetened almond milk + 1 scoop of chocolate Shakeology (my favorite flavor) + a handful of ice into my shaker cup and just shake it up.
  • In a pinch, I’ve had to drink it mixed with only room temperature water, no ice. I do not recommend this. Try to find some ice if you can and drink it cold!
  • Shakeology is packed with vitamins, minerals, as well as prebiotics and probiotics, which help with digestions. So if you have a sensitive stomach, you might want to try starting with 1/2 scoop of Shakeology until your body is used to it.
