Balsamic Vinaigrette
We all know that salads are a staple meal of any healthy diet, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring and devoid of flavor! Not only can you mix and match to add different proteins, veggies, fruits, healthy fats, nuts and seeds to make endless salad combinations, but why not make your own healthy salad dressing at home? Try this homemade balsamic vinaigrette recipe to add some flavor to your next salad. If you make your own, you’ll know exactly what’s in your dressing without guessing what those mystery chemicals are that you can’t even pronounce!
But it’s not only good on salads, you can also use this dressing to add flavor to steamed fish, grilled chicken, beef or sautéed veggies.
Ingredients:
- 6 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp raw honey (or pure maple syrup)
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 6 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
Instructions
Directions:
Combine vinegar, lemon juice, and honey in a medium bowl; whisk to blend.
Stir in mustard; mix well.
Slowly add oil while whisking; mix well.
Recipe Notes
Store leftover dressing in a covered container in the refrigerator. If dressing thickens when cold, hold at room temperature for 30 minutes and stir before serving.
